There are various projects with aim to protect nature and preserve biological diversity in Nordic and Baltic countries. A project with aim to exchange experiences and develop visitor monitoring methods with regard to protected and recreational areas in the Nordic and Baltic countries is carried out by project group which is leaded by Metsähallitus, Finland. The project is supported by Nordic Council of Ministers.
There are many different organisations that provide funding for international nature conservation activities in the Nordic and Baltic countries, for example, Nordic Council of Ministers, EU Interreg programmes and LIFE Nature.
