Celebrating the the World Wetlands Day 2012, Estonian Environmental Board is organising a seminar about nature tourism in wetlands. The World Wetlands Day 2012 message is: Wetland Tourism: A Great Experience. Responsible tourism supports wetlands and people.

There are different organisations connected with protected wetlands via tourism - PAN Parks, Ramsar, Europarc, Estonian Tourism Board, Environmental Board, State Forest Management Centre, local goverments etc.

However, local inhabitants are very important as well as local tourism businesses, collaborations with them is obligatory, otherwise it is very difficult to protect wetlands.

Environmental Board invites you to take part in member meeting and seminar in Estonia on March 6-8.

Member meeting will take place in Tallinn and seminar in Roosta Holiday Village in Lääne county.

Seminar on topic "Protected areas as part of green infrastructure" will give insight to the issue green infrastructure- why do we need it, also we will show best examples and have workshops on various green infrastructure related topics.

19th March 2012TEEB Conference 2012 - Mainstreaming the Economics of Nature: Challenges for Science and Implementation

19-22 March, 2012. Leipzig, Germany.

TEEB invites the research and policy community to discuss the state of the art in Environmental Valuation, Ecosystem Services and Science-Policy Processes. Conference participants will have the possibility to discuss and update the findings of the TEEB study and contribute with their own findings, experiences and approaches to a new understanding of the link between economics, decision-making and the environment.

Who should attend?
In the spirit of the TEEB study, the TEEB conference reaches out to a broad audience, bridging the gap between natural and social sciences, between lay and expert knowledge, and between academic perspectives and real-life political, business and private decision processes. Therefore, scientists from natural and social sciences as well as from the humanities and legal studies, political actors, civil-society representatives and administrative officials are encouraged to attend the conference.
